Covid 2nd wave Risk Discussed

Now, this is real we are at an all-time high for cases every day at an India level, it's no more a state-specific problem even though some states take the lead. A second lockdown appears more and more real. But the only reason we are here is that we overlooked the possibility when the US and UK were witnessing their own 2nd waves only a while back in Jan, and we cherished our immunity. In hindsight that may be ignorance.

The truth however is that the US has managed out of that second wave and there may be lessons to be learned and worked upon. There is light at the end of the tunnel. The size of the wave was big there as well and it took 2-3 months to come out of it. The second wave reached 300k cases v/s less than 100k earlier, very similar to India's numbers. So we may continue to see our case counts rise toward 300k if it goes the same way. California lockdowns were lifted only after the demand for beds at hospitals for new cases became manageable.

The UK too went through its second wave and additional measures to contain the virus and new strains, that appear more in control now. We will simply have to get there on our own as well, and we have models to follow. But we have to give it 2 months at least for a clear recovery from Covid wave 2.0
